Bengaluru: In yet another pothole tragedy in the city, a 17-year-old girl came under the wheels of a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus on Monday after the driver of the two-wheeler she was riding pillion lost control.

According to eye witnesses, the bus kept honking behind Santosh who was riding a bike. Before he could give way, he hit a concrete cement block and hit an auto rickshaw. This resulted in Savita on the pillion to fall off the bike and she was run over by the bus behind them.

Alarmingly, this is becoming a trend in Bengaluru for two-wheeler riders as they face the risk of coming under huge vehicles trying to avoid potholes.

A few months ago, a nine-year-old boy and his mother lost their lives on the Tumkur road. Another teenage girl was killed while going to a wedding.
