New Delhi: After Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter to question why everything in the country was named after the Gandhis, the Congress in retaliation named a public toilet in Allahabad after the famed Bollywood actor on Monday.
A bunch of Congress workers gathered at the Shivaji Park area in Allahabad on Monday and hung a placard bearing Rishi Kapoor’s name outside a Sulabh toilet complex.
The gathered Congress workers justified the installation of Gandhi family names in building and properties by saying that the family had contributed towards India’s freedom.
“Baap ka maal samjh rakha tha? If roads in Delhi can be changed, why not Congress assets/property ke naam?” the actor had tweeted earlier.
The question about “Gandhis’ name in everything” shot to public attention after General VK Singh had asked Venkaiah Naidu to rename Akbar road to Maharana Pratap road.
