Mumbai: Train services in Mumbai were severely affected after an empty coach derailed off a track between Elphinstone railway stations and Lower Parel on Tuesday morning.
Reports said an empty train was travelling from the Parel workshop to the yard when the second coach capsized onto the adjoining.
Services of Western Line of Mumbai Suburban Railway were severely affected. The incident has affected hundreds of commuters who were stuck at platforms and in trains.
The Western Railway shared its regrets on microblogging site Twitter.

Services of slow trains were diverted on fast lines for Churchgate from Mahim as fast lines are fully operational.
After the restoration operation work, the coach which was derailed has been brought back to the track.
So far no injuries have been reported.
