New Delhi: Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit on Sunday denied that Dawood Ibrahim is in Pakistan. He said that India shouldn’t expect someone who is not in Pakistan to be handed over. Basit’s remarks come a day after India accused Pakistan of doing too little to nab those involved in terrorist attacks in the country.
“I do not know where he is and please do not expect someone who is not in Pakistan to be handed over. How is it possible to hand over someone whose whereabouts we do not know,” Basit said.
Pakistan High Commissioner said talks are the only means to ensure peace between the two nations.
BJP spokesperson Shaina NC said that Abdul Basit is in complete denial mode for reasons best known to him. “I think they must accept that there are terrorist outfits brewing in Pakistan of which Dawood is a part,” she said.
Union Minister Rajnath Singh had said last month that Dawood will be soon nabbed and brought back to India.
