Muzaffarnagar: A 35-year-old woman on Tuesday gave birth on a road after she was allegedly denied admission by a government hospital here. The woman was displaced from her native village during the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots.

The incident happened on Monday when the pregnant woman was denied entry at the Kandhla primary health centre, her husband said.     

The doctors asked us to return as the woman’s delivery date was scheduled three days later, he further said.

The woman gave birth on the road while they were on the way to their house. She was later shifted to Shamli district hospital.

A probe has been ordered by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
