Maputo: Several agreements in areas of drug trafficking, pulse trading and sports were signed between India and Mozambique on Thursday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi. 
Earlier, the Union Cabinet gave its approval for the signing of an MoU between India and Mozambique on drug demand reduction and prevention of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs.
MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup expressed his happiness over the agreements in a post on Twitter. 
“The leaders witnessed signing of 3 agreements in Maputo,” he informed on twitter.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi was given a colourful ceremonial welcome upon  arrival in the African nation of Mozambique.
PM Modi will proceed to South Africa on the conclusion of his one-day visit of Mozambique.
