Gurgaon: A four-year-old girl was found dead in Gurgaon on Wednesday, three days after she was reported missing. Police said a few parts of the body had been chopped off, and suspect some occult practitioners behind the crime.
Police said parts of the tongue and ears were chopped off and the throat was slit.
The girl, Rinku, who went missing on Sunday evening, was found murdered near her hut in Kadipur area in Sector 10 A of Gurgaon.
A team of forensic experts examined the spot.
“The cause and time of death will be ascertained on the basis of post-mortem report,” a senior police officer said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Police said Mishri Lal, father of the victim, worked as a labourer and hails from a tribal community in Rajasthan.
A number of tribal families have put up shanties near Kadipur on Pataudi Road.
The girl’s family alleged that a man named Sanjay, who lived in the shanties, had been asking them to hand over Rinku to him as he liked her very much.
Sanjay, who owns a small grocery shop, is now absconding.
People protested the killing and blocked traffic in the area for some time demanding immediate arrest of the suspect.
