Uttarkashi: After the met department predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall, the situation is only getting worse in the hill state of Uttarakhand. Several roads have been blocked and have been causing a lot of problems for the locals, commuters and tourists.
As per the latest updates, the Gangotri Temple is flooded as a result of the spate in River Ganga following heavy rainfall. Almost 22 roads have been blocked due to landlsides that have been reported in the Gomukh area.
The Gomukh trek for now has been closed due to heavy rainfall in Uttarkashi district and two bridges have also been washed away in Chirwasa and Deogarh. Meanwhile, rescue operations are on to rescue stranded trekkers and evacuate the area.
Thundershowers in Srinagar have caused River Alaknanda to reach the danger mark, temples have submerge and heavy rainfall has caused waterlogging in the town of Haldwani.
As per the met department, heavy rainfall is predicted in the upcoming days in the state of Uttarakhand.
