AMETHI: After rating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first year performance a ‘zero’ on 10, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Monday drove into his parliamentary constituency and opened another attack on the PM.

“PM Modi has time to travel the world, but he has not visited the home of even a single farmer who has committed suicide,” Gandhi said in his voice against Modi.

The 44-year-old leader then got off his car and walked for two kilometers along with people in hundreds running behind him to where a food park that is now scrapped was to be constructed.

The Gandhi scion has promised of trying to get back the food park that was sanctioned by the former ruling central government (Congress).

“It would have benefitted several across the country but the Modi government snatched it away. Not from me, but from the farmers, weaker sections and the workers,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi was asked to rate the Modi government’s performance while he was en route to Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. The instant reply of the Congress leader was: “Like farmers and labourers, I will also give it a zero out of 10.” “However, Industrialists and corporate houses will give it 10 out of 10,” added Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi ever since his return after 57 days sabbatical has been touring different parts of the country and meeting the families of the troubled farmers who killed themselves. Declaring a war against the land reforms of the Modi government, Gandhi called them ‘anti-farmers’ and ‘pro-corporate’.

Gandhi continued to attack the ‘foreign tours’ of PM Modi about which the Prime Minister even spoke in China.

On Saturday, PM Modi said, “I am criticized by some for travelling, for working hard. If working hard is a crime, I am prepared to commit that crime for 125 crore Indians. Every moment of my time is for the people of my country.”

Taking a jibe at Gandhi’s big absence from major events during his ‘leave’, PM Modi on an international ground said that he has not taken any vacation ever since he has resumed work.

This is Rahul Gandhi’s first visit to Amethi since December 2014 and the Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused him of ignoring his constituency for long.
