Mumbai: Fire broke out on one of the Navy patrol boats at the Naval dockyard in Mumbai. The fire in one led to another boat catching fire. The boats were deployed to keep the water boundary of the country safe.
Immediate fire-fighting actions was taken by the duty staff to prevent the fire from spreading to other boats.
During the fire-fighting operation, two boats suffered damage and ingress of water and are submerged in shallow waters inside the naval harbour area.
Efforts are in progress to salvage the boats. There was no loss of life reported in this incident.
