Muzzaffarnagar: A 14-year-old boy who was in love with a 15-year-old girl next door in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh was allegedly killed by the girl’s family and buried in their backyard.

Shakeel Ahmad, the father of the deceased son, was heartbroken when he talked about how a single wall separated his house from the neighbour’s. Despite the crippling Muzaffarnagar riot, the Saini’s and the Ahmad’s had been able to maintain peace without hurting each other.

Sripal Saini, the father of the 15-year-old girl, became furious when he learned that his daughter was having an affair with Ershad, the 14-year-old Muslim boy. With the help of the two brothers and the uncle of the girl, Saini allegedly killed Ershad and buried his body in their backyard.

After Ahmad had filed a missing complaint with the police, the authorities did the task of tracking down where Ershad was last seen. Since the young lovers had last been seen together, the police quickly conducted the search in Saini’s house and found the carcass of the boy in the backyard.

“We felt something was fishy when the boy’s call detail report revealed that he had been in constant touch with one specific person. Interestingly, both sim cards were registered in Ershad’s name, which means the youth had given that number to the girl,” SSP Deepak Kumar said.

“Questioning of the brothers of the girl confirmed that the boy was strangled soon after he was abducted on Monday night. His body was hidden in a shallow pit in a plot that belonged to the uncle. We recovered the body and have arrested Pawan and Mohan Saini, the brothers, along with the uncle,” added the officer.

Kawal is considered to be the epicentre of the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots. Additional forces have been deployed in the area in case of unrests related to the case.
