New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear a defamation case against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi over his Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) remark on Wednesday. The Congress vice-president had said that RRS was responsible for Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination.
“RSS people killed Gandhiji and today their people (BJP) talk of him…They opposed Sardar Patel and Gandhiji,” he had said.
A bench of Justice Dipak Misra and Justice RF Nariman will take up the matter at 2 pm. On July 19, the apex court had asked Rahul Gandhi to apologise or face trial in the defamation case.
The RSS had earlier filed a defamation case in the Bombay High Court against Rahul Gandhi.
