New Delhi: A private bus in Bengaluru city travelling towards Hubli-Dharwad abruptly caught fire on Wednesday. Around 11 PM and at the vicinity of a place called Varoor, the incident took place. 

During the incident, there were sixteen people onboard the bus, three of whom lost their lives in the fire. 

Investigations into the accident by officials revealed that the bus was carrying combustible materials like liquor bottles and cigarettes which might’ve exacerbated the fire. 

The other passengers that were in the bus during the incident escape with minor burn injuries. The passengers who were charred to death have not been identified by the police.
