New Delhi: ML Sharma, the lawyer for convicts Mukesh and Pawanhas trivialised the Nirbhaya gangrape case further by calling the iron rod theory baseless. The lawyer has also announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for anyone who proves that victim was tortured with an iron rod.
“The post-mortem report has revealed that Nirbhaya’s uterus was in perfect condition. It is impossible to insert a rod without damaging the uterus”, said the lawyer
“I am just presenting the facts from post-mortem report and not adding things on my own. I only want to bring out the truth”, said the lawyer in a confrontation with NewsX
National Commission for Women (NCW) chief Lalita Kumarmangalam has condemned the remark made by the defence lawyer. She said that Sharma is trying to defame the victim and his statement is an insult to all women in the country.
The 23-year-old trainee physiotherapist, dubbed Nirbhaya, was sexually assaulted on a moving bus and died after sustaining serious internal injuries because of allegedly being violated with an iron bar during the attack.
