Imphal: Iron lady of Manipur, Irom Sharmila is all set to end her 16-year old fast against Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) on Tuesday.
The 44-year old will end her hunger strike at a local court, her brother Irom Singhajit informed.
Earlier in July, Sharmila had announced the decision to end her fast. She had also spoken about her plans to get married and contest upcoming assembly polls in Manipur.
The human rights activist began her fast in 2000 after Assam Rifles gunned down 10 civilians at a bus stop in Malom and has been demanding removal of AFSPA from the state.

Despite her hunger strike, AFSPA continues to be in effect in many parts of northeastern India and Kashmir and gives security forces sweeping powers to search and shoot at sight.
