New Delhi: In a shocking incident being reported from Howrah, Bengal, a group of CRPF jawans created a ruckus inside a bar on Thursday night.

Around three CRPF jawans went into a bar near Howrah Railway Station and started misbehaving after consuming a few drinks, reports said. After the manager protested of misbehaviour, the three jawans called in more CRPF men and ransacked the whole bar.

They wanted the bar owner to continue serving drinks after 11PM, which the owner outrightly refused to.

“When the bar tenders told them that they could not remain open anymore, the CRPF jawans started making a scene. They smashed the bottles and broke chairs and tables,” one of the proprietor of the area said.

After the incident, the locals marched to the Howrah police station and launched agitation demanding action against the errant CRPF jawans, who had come from Jharkhand. The sources further added that the police had picked up two CRPF jawans after being informed by the bar owners. However, they were released later.

Speaking on the matter, Howrah Police said, “We could not arrest them as they are from a force and they were on duty. We have informed their office which would take action.”

Adding to the matter, a CRPF spokesman said, “Action will be taken against those guilty. We have ordered a departmental inquiry.”
