New Delhi: Allahabad High Court on Monday released Nupur Talwar from jail for three weeks after she was granted parole in Aarushi murder case.

The court on August 29 granted parole to Talwar who is serving a jail term for the murder of her daughter, to visit her ailing mother. In July, she had pleaded before the High Court for parole.

In May 2008, 14-year-old Aarushi and their domestic help Hemraj were found murdered under suspicious circumstances in her house at Jal Vayu Vihar in Noida.

Initially, the police suspected their domestic help, Hemraj, to be the murderer but he too was found dead on the terrace of their flat the next day.

The Uttar Pradesh Police later accused Nupur and her husband Rajesh Talwar for the murder.

A trial was ordered and the court held them guilty and handed them a life sentence for killing their only child.

Nupur is in jail since 2013.
