Kolkata: Former West Bengal transport minister Madan Mitra, who was accused in the Saradha scam, on Friday was granted bail by Alipore court on a bail bond of Rs 30 lakhs. 
Mitra has been granted bail on a condition that his passport be submitted to the local police station and that he must appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as and when the agency wants to interrogate him in the case. 
Charge-sheeted for various offences, including criminal conspiracy, cheating and criminal breach of trust in the multi-crore scam, Mitra has been behind bars since his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation on December 12 last year.
