New Delhi: Arunachal Pradesh governor JP Rajkhowa was sacked from the post of governor on Monday as Rajkhowa’s continuation in the office was not tenable. 
President Pranab Mukherjee directed that Rajkhowa should be removed as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and appointed Meghalaya’s Governor V. Shanmuganathan to discharge function.
Earlier on September 7, in a meeting with President Mukherjee Home Minister Rajnath Singh confirmed that Rajkhowa’s removal from the post of Governor was imminent.
