Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) led by Raj Thackeray on Friday raked up a controversy after the party said that it will not allow Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s upcoming film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and Mahira Khan’s ‘Raees’ release.

“We won’t let ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ & ‘Raees’ release as it has Pakistani actors,” says MNS.

Earlier in the day, MNS issued a threat to all Pakistani artists to leave India in 48 hours else they will be pushed out.

“We give a 48 hour deadline to Pakistani Actors and artists to leave India or MNS will push them out,” Amey Khopkar, MNS Chitrapat Sena said.
Speaking to NewsX, Amey said, “Pakistan has always supported terrorism against India … We have talented artists so why do we need Pakistani artists to perform here.”
Clarifying the party’s stand, MNS spokesperson Sandeep Deshpande said, “Giving roles to Pakistani artists, is it Patriotism? So much of attacks happening in India, do you think that we should allow Pakistani artists to stay in India … We should give a message to Pakistan that we are not going to tolerate this anymore. The government should deport them to Pakistan.”

This is not the first time that MNS and its party people have involved themselves in such controversies by issuing threats to Pakistani artists. Earlier also, MNS had tried to cancel a Pakistani artist concert that was scheduled to take place in Mumbai.
