New Delhi: The National Investigative Agency (NIA) on Sunday arrested 6 persons from Kannur district of Kerala for allegedly plotting terror attacks against the country.
As per police reports, the accused were inspired by IS (Islamic State) module and were targeting to attack various important places of south India.
During this operation, the NIA was assisted by police forces from Delhi, Kerala and Telangana,
The investigative agency has registered the case under sections 120B, 121, 121A and 122 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 18, 18B, 20, 38 & 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against the accused who have been identified as Manseed, Abu Basheer, Swalih Mohammed, Safwan P, Jasim NK, Ramshad and Nageelan Kandiyil.
Earlier in the month of June NIA arrested five ISIS members from Hyderabad.
