New Delhi: Pakistan on Tuesday morning violated ceasefire in the Kalsian village of Naushera sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

Police said Pakistan used 120mm and 82mm mortar shells to target Indian positions in Kalsian (Nowshera) sector of the LoC.
“The Indian army effectively retaliated Pakistan shelling and firing. After appropriate response from the Indian side, Pakistan army had stopped shelling now,” the police said.
“Heavy exchanges continued for over an hour in the area creating panic among the residents,” police added.

Earlier on Monday, Pakistani troops resorted to heavy motor shelling at Shahpur on the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC).

Ever since the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army across the LoC on September 26 took place, such ceasefire has become frequent.
