Lucknow: Gearing up for the forthcoming Assembly elections in state of Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Thursday merged with politician Mukhtar Ansari’s Qaumi Ekta Dal (QED).
This development has come even after CM Akhilesh Yadav’s disapproval for the alliance.
The announcement about the merger of both the parties was made by party leader Shivpal Yadav. He said that the decision to alliance with Qaumi Ekta Dal has been made after consulatation with the senior party leaders.
Earlier in June this year, Samajwadi Party had alliance with Qaumi Ekta Dal but it was cancelled after CM Akhilesh Yadav’s disapproval. But once again, both the parties have come together now.
