New Delhi: Remaining suspended for more than three months, the prepaid mobile services in Kashmir were restored on Friday night, following improvement in the situation in the valley.
“With the improvement in the situation, prepaid mobile services are being restored from tonight,” a police spokesman said.
The incoming call facility on the prepaid numbers was restored on July 27. However, the post-paid mobile services remained unafftected.
The mobile services were snapped in Kashmir a week after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani on July 8.
Wani’s death triggered massive protests across the Kashmir, claiming 84 lives and several thousand injured.
