New Delhi: Amid the recent fluctuation in global oil prices, petrol and diesel prices were again hiked on Saturday. The new revised rates will be effective from from midnight.
Petrol prices have been hiked by Rs 1.34 per litre and while the diesel rate is now up by Rs 2.37 per litre. The hike announced by oil companies is excluding state levies.
A couple of weeks ago, state-run oil marketers had raised transport fuel prices on account of hikes in dealer commission, by 10 paise for diesel and 14 paise for petrol, inclusive of local taxes in Delhi, with corresponding increase in other states.
As commission, the dealers were then getting Rs 1.38 per litre on petrol and Rs 2.28 on a litre of diesel.
