New Delhi: At least 22 people were killed and 30 others including women and children were injured on Thursday after a bus fell into a 300 ft gorge in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. 

“At least 22 people died and the injured have been shifted in ambulances to hospitals,” J&K minister Ajay Nanda said.

According to reports, some of the injured persons are in critical condition.

“The people who were seriously injured are being airlifted to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment,” Tahir Sajad Bhat, SSP Reasi said.

“Ambulances already pressed into service, injured also shifted to various places for further treatment,” Jitendra Singh tweeted on Reasi (J&K) mishap.

“Assured collector that any kind of help be it financial from my side, I would be there to provide it: Jitendra Singh,MoS PMO on Reasi mishap,” he added.
The Reasi police immediately rushed to the spot for the rescue operations.
The bus was allegedly crowded beyond its capacity, and was on the way from Reasi to Bakal village when it rolled down into the deep gorge.
