New Delhi: The newly constructed and India’s second eco-friendly airport in Vadodara is almost complete and all set to opens its doors to passengers.
The new integrated terminal building is equipped with international standard facilities.
Narendra Shukla, Project in-charge said the building has several features of a green building.
“Sugarcane pulps are used for decoration at VIP and CIP lounge. Many features of a green building incorporated in the building,” he said.
He added that the building’s roof top has energy efficient glass.
“Energy efficient glass has been used. A sheet measuring 164.4 metres is used on roof top, which is a world record,” said Shukla.
Construction work of the terminal was started in May 2011 and is expected to be completed by end of 2016. It will have 18 check in counters and has the ability to handle 700 passengers per hour.
