Coimbatore: At least 6 people were injured on Friday after a major fire broke out at an IAS coaching academy in Coimbatore. According to reports, the incident took place after fireworks stored at the IAS coaching academy exploded.

The firecrackers were kept in a three-storey building. When the first spark was noticed, students who were studying at the coaching centre rushed out of the building. But unfortunately, six people who were on the first floor got stuck in smoke. The injured were rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital.

However, the cause of the fire is yet to be known.

Earlier in the day, another incident of fire was reported at a fire cracker godown in Coimbatore, where at least 5 people were rescued.
