New Delhi: A relief was received by the commuters after the Supreme Court on Friday scrapped the plea filed by the Noida Toll Bridge Company seeking to set aside the Allahabad High Court’s order to make the Delhi-Noida-Direct (DND) Flyway toll-free.

On Friday, the apex court said that it will get the profit account of the DND toll company audited either by an independent auditor or by Comptroller And Auditor General Of India (CAG) in order to find out if the profit recovered by the DND toll company was adequate or not.
The SC will pass an order about auditing the account and till the report is submitted there will be no toll on the expressway.
The Allahabad High Court, earlier on 26 October, Wednesday, declared the Noida DND route as toll free. The flyover connects Delhi on the west bank of the Yamuna with Noida and East Delhi. This long awaited relief by Allahabad High Court, for the residents came in after the Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA) filed a PIL seeking the scrapping of the DND toll on Nov 16, 2012.

According to the Allahabad High Court Advocate, Ranjit Saxena, who has been representing FONRWA, had previously said the verdict on the PIL pertaining to Noida Toll Bridge case is to be delivered according to the notification issued by the high court under the authority of the Chief Justice.
