Jammu: Indian and Pakistani troops traded fire on Thursday on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, the military said.

Defence ministry spokesman Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS here that Pakistan resorted to “unprovoked firing” across the LoC in Poonch sector.

“Since 9.15 a.m., Pakistani troops have been intermittently firing small arms and automatics. Our troops have responded with equal calibre weapons.

“No casualties or damage has been reported,” the officer said.
