New Delhi: In yet another mob rampage incident after demonetisation of high denomination currency notes, angry local residents in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh vandalised a State Bank of India (SBI) branch office in Katghar on Saturday.
The locals reportedly damaged the gate of the office building after the bank stopped operating after 4 PM.
“Bank closed at 4 PM but people got angry and vandalised properties. They were shouting that operating time of bank was till 8 PM,” said a security guard in the bank.

Since the Narendra Modi-led government announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes on November 8, there were reports of chaos and commotion incidents occurring at banks and ATMs across the country. People are facing problems in getting their old currency notes exchanged.
