New Delhi: With the whole country undergoing tough ordeals after the announcement of demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, it is expected that large spending will be cut short to the bare necessities, especially when it comes to weddings this winter. However, one man is seemingly unfazed.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Bellary mining businessman Gali Janardhana Reddy, whose wedding preparation for his daughter created headlines around the country, is seemingly unperturbed by this whole currency crash thing. Bramhani’s wedding is expected to be one of the most lavish weddings in the country. The LCD screen attached in a box inside the invitation is a testament to how lavish the actual wedding will be.
The wedding is slated to be held on November 15, 16 and 17 in Vijayanagara and is expected to be a celebration marked by the most grandest of preparations in recent times. According to reports, preliminary rituals have already begun and are being executed on a grand stage which is similar to the ancient city of Hampi of the Vijayanagara Empire.
Reddy, aka ‘Bellary King’, is one of the richest politicians in the state of Karnataka.
The demonetisation has greatly affected large ceremonial events in the country, especially weddings where transactions amount to more than 5 lakhs. People are queuing outside every ATM and banks for daily maximum transaction.
