New Delhi: While speaking at the commemoration event of the National Press Day in Vigyan Bhawan in national capital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the hard work of media in the nation by saying, “The press is responsible for upholding free-speech”.

Hailing the work of the media houses in the nation, PM Modi said that the freedom of speech and expression should be maintained. He said, “Abhivyakti ki aazaadi bani rehni chahiye”.



While addressing the people, PM Modi further condemned the attacks on the journalists saying, “Any death is worrisome, but journalists losing their lives just because they try showing the truth, it becomes even more serious then”.



Previously, before the commencement of the winter session of the Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday while addressing the media said, “Hope the session will have constructive debates”.
