New Delhi: Two Indian fishermen were injured on Thursday in firing by Sri Lankan Navy. The incident took place when they were fishing in the Indian Ocean region. 
According to reports, both the fishermen hail from Kilinjilmettai area of Karaikal in Puducherry and are undergoing treatment at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) hospital. 
This is not the first incident of attack on  Indian fishermen. The issue was raised during the recent meeting between Indian and Sri Lankan govt in the first week of November.
