Manipur: One person has been reportedly killed after an explosion took place in Singjamei, Manipur.

As per initial information, the nature and cause of the explosion has not been confirmed. However, concerned authorities are looking into the matter.




Earlier in October, a powerful IED exploded in Manipur’s capital town Imphal. The blast had occurred at around 7:30 am near Majorkhul Gate along MG Avenue. A car and some buildings in the area were damaged in the incident. No casualities were reported. 

Prior to that, a bomb blast took place in Ukhrul damaging a hall where the state Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh was scheduled to speak to the people. The CM escaped unhurt after militants from National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) open fired when he was getting out of his helicopter at the helipad.
