New Delhi: Pulwana Police on Wednesday night arrested five people who were involved in looting more than Rs 12 lakh cash from a Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch at Charari Sharif in Budgam on Monday, Nov 22.
As per reports, the five persons were arrested by police during a midnight raid from Chiwakalan area of Pulwama district. While talking to media, a police official confirmed the arrests and said, “No cash has been recovered from the arrested persons as of yet. Preliminary investigations reveal that the arrested persons had provided logistic support and shelter to the gunmen who looted the Bank.”
He added, “It seems that some more people are involved in the robbery and investigations are on.”
On Monday, unidentified gunmen looted more than Rs 12 lakh cash from J&K Bank Malapora branch. The cash that was looted was mostly in Rs 500 and 1000 banned currency notes.
