New Delhi: The absconding Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) chief Harminder Singh Mintoo who went absconding on Sunday from the Nabha jail in Punjab with four other gangsters was arrested on Monday from the national capital. He has been sent to 7-day police remand by the Delhi police.

Meerut range IG, Ajay Anand, said that Parminder was planning to go to Dehradun. However, a joint effort by the Delhi and Punjab police resulted in the capture of the KLF chief who has been prosecuted in more than three terror-related incidences. He was nabbed from near the Delhi-Haryana border.

Yesterday, a 24-year-old woman in Punjab’s Patiala was killed when the police opened fire on a vehicle which refused to stop for routine checking.

The Khalistan Liberation Force or KLF is an insurgent group, and is part of the Khalistan movement to create a Sikh homeland called Khalistan via armed struggle. The KLF appears to have been a loose association of scattered Khalistani groups.
