New Delhi: Three suspected Al-Qaeda activists were arrested on Monday by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Madurai, police said. Explosive materials and arms were also seized from them.
“Explosive materials and arms have been seized from them,” police said, declining to elaborate.
Certain digital devices like mobile phones and hard discs were also seized from the three suspects arrested by NIA.

NIA along with Tamil Nadu police arrested three men in Madurai who were planning to attack 22 top leaders of the country including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Those arrested have been identified as M Khareem, Asif Sultan Mohammed and Abbas Ali. They have been taken to Mysore for further investigation.
All three men arrested were involved in bombings at six courts including Mysore, Chittoor, Kollam, Nellore and Malappuram.
