New Delhi: The Lower House (Lok Sabha) of the Parliament was adjourned for the day after continuous disruptions and noisy exchanges between the opposition and the treasury benches over the AgustaWestland helicopter deal.
As the house met, opposition members were noisily on their feet. Members of the Bharariya Janata Party (BJP) flashed a newspaper clipper and also raised their voice.
“We want Agusta Westland issue to be discussed in the Parliament,” Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu said.
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan warned members against displaying papers in the House before adjourning the house till 12 noon. The house met again only to see more din, but as the protest continued, it was adjourned again for the day.
Earlier in the day, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) had protested at Gandhi statue in Parliament over demonetisation.
