New Delhi: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit out at NDA government for demonetisation and termed the move anti-poor while addressing a rally at Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Criticising the government, Gandhi said that the decision to ban old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes was not against black money or corruption, but against poor and farmers.
Rahul Gandhi also attacked PM Modi for ignoring his request to waive off farmers’ loans in order to provide them relief.
“I met PM Modi and told him that farmers are dying, waive-off their loans, but he was silent,” he said.
Gandhi added that Congress was determined to wipe off corruption from the country.
