Chennai: In a major development, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) on Thursday adopted a resolution to work under the leadership of Sasikala Natarajan in the party general body meeting.

Sasikala Natarajan, a close aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, has been appointed unopposed as the General Secretary of  the party.  

According to initial information, 14 resolutions have been passed by the party in its general body meeting. The resolution demanding Late Jayalalithaa’s birthday be celebrated as ‘National Farmers Day’ also adopted.

Resolution to confer Jayalalithaa with Magsaysay Award and Nobel Prize for World Peace was also passed in the meeting.

The meeting was attended by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and other senior leaders. Soon after the meeting started, homage was paid to late former TN CM J Jayalalithaa.   


Chief Minister Panneerselvam went to the Poes Garden to hand over the resolutions made at the party’s general meeting to Sasikala Natarajan, where she accepted it.
