Srinagar: The death toll in avalanches that struck army camps in Gurez Sector and Bandipora of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on January 26 has reached to 14.
These affected areas in the northern Kashmir have been receiving heavy snowfall since past three days, creating massive problems in the region.
Around 10 soldiers were killed in two separate avalanche tragedies in Gurez sector of the LoC (on Wednesday),” according to an army statement.

Meanwhile, in another avalanche that striked in Uri sector today, at least one person was reportedley killed. However, it is not confirmed whether the person was a civilian or an army personnel.
The local authorities have issued a warning about further avalanches that may hit the region for another 24 hours.
