New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) may revoke the weekly cash withdrawal limit of Rs 24,000 in coming days, as per the Economic Affairs secretary Shaktikanta Das.

The secretary stressed in an interview that all the restrictions have been removed, except on savings bank account of Rs 24,000 per week, and it is a matter of time when it will be upheld.

“In less than 90 days, the whole process of remonetisation is almost complete. This speaks volumes about the way the remonetisation has been completed,” Das added.

Earlier, on Monday, RBI reinstated the daily withdrawal limit but the weekly limit remained at Rs 24,000.

Also, the withdrawal limit on current bank accounts was Rs 50,000 but it was later increased to 1,00,000.
