An incident of brutality against women was reported in New Delhi when a 15-year-old girl from Chhattisgarh who accidentally boarded a wrong train and reached Delhi was kidnapped, raped and then sold to a man.

The girl was finally rescued from an area near Humayun’s Tomb in New Delhi on Thursday.

In the month of October, the girl was travelling to visit her relatives when she boarded a wrong train and reached Delhi.

On the railway station, she met a man called Arman who was selling water bottles there. Arman took her to Sarai Kale Khan and raped her and then with the help of his wife Haseena, the duo sold the girl to a man called Pappu Yadav in Faridabad for Rs. 70,000.

Pappu Yadav married the girl, tortured her physically and mentally and assaulted her for 2 months.

“She was living in Faridabad for close to two months with Pappu who physically and mentally tortured her. She then somehow left his house and reached Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station where Hasheena met her and gave her a spiked drink,” a senior police official told PTI.

Then the girl was handed over to another man Mohammad Afroz who raped her near the railway station and paid the money to Haseena.

The victim somehow managed to escape from there and was noticed by travellers who called the police.

A case was registered and an FIR was lodged. The victim is undergoing counselling in AIIMS.

The police have arrested Mohammad Afroz and Pappu Yadav and the hunt for the other accused is on.
