Taking a stern action against the rebels, Uttarakhand BJP on Sunday expelled its 33 leaders for anti-party activities.
The rebel candidates were allegedly fighting against the official candidates who were given tickets by BJP to fight the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttarakhand.

The decision comes after the rebels failed to withdraw their nomination by Saturday.
Uttarakhand will vote on 15 February 2017 in a single phase for the 70 seats in the Vidhan Sabha. In the last Assembly election held in 2012, no party could find a clear majority.
