AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala on Wednesday said DMK was behind former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam’s revolt against her.

Emphasising that the party was still united, VK Sasikala said, “We are united like a family.” Chinamma made this statement while waving to her supporters outside Poes Garden on late Tuesday night.

Further speaking over O Panneerselvam’s revolt against her, Sasikala said, “I did not force OPS for anything, what he is saying is not correct.”

On being asked whether Panneerselvam will be removed from all party posts including AIADMK’s membership, Sasikala said, “Surely we will do it.”

Moments before, AIADMK’s M Thambidurai while hitting out at Panneerselvam had said, “All 134 ministers are united. Hope the governor will come to Chennai and will invite Chinamma to form ministry.”

“Panneerselvam will go to Delhi to meet President and Home Ministry as he has sought appointment. He will try to form the ministry but will fail,” Thambidurai added.

Hitting back at Sasikala, Panneerselvam said, “I have carried forward the post of treasurer which was entrusted upon me by Amma and I think no one can take it away from me.”

“Looking at opposition leader and smiling at them isn’t a crime. I think smiling is not a crime. I am a staunch follower of AIADMK and will remain so; wait and see what will happen tomorrow,” Panneerselvam added.

Earlier on Tuesday night, Panneerselvam had paid homage to J Jayalalithaa at her memorial on Marina beach. He also sat on the beach in a meditation position for almost 30 minutes before making startling revelations.

Addressing the media he had said, “At a meeting at Sasikala’s place senior party leaders were present and question of her being CM came. I asked how far was this justified. To which party leaders said I have to take initiative towards making Sasikala CM that’s how I was forced to tender resignation.”

Panneerselvam added that he had performed his duty as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister without any shortcomings.

“I have performed my duty without any shortcomings and carried forward on the path shown by Amma,” he said.
