All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader O Panneerselvam said on Wednesday that a Commission of Inquiry headed by a Supreme Court judge will be appointed to probe into the death of his predecessor J Jayalalithaa. He was briefing the media at his residence in Chennai.

Speaking to media, O Paneerselvam said he has recommended an inquiry commission to probe into the death of Jayalalithaa.

“A Supreme Court judge will head the probe into the death of Amma,” he said.

“The health queries regarding Amma were raised in recent past also and that it was the duty of state government to probe into the matter,” the AIADMK leader added.

Asked about his differences with Sasikala, Paneerselvam said that he will prove his strength in the assembly.

“Amma remained CM for nearly 16 yrs, I happened to become CM twice, all this was the wish of Amma. Always followed Amma’s path and will continue to do so,” Panneerselvam said.

“If party cadres ask me to withdraw my resignation, I will do that,” he added.

On Wednesday, the AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala had said DMK was behind O Panneerselvam’s revolt against her.

Emphasising that the party was still united, VK Sasikala said, “We are united like a family.” Chinamma made this statement while waving to her supporters outside Poes Garden on late Tuesday night.
