Security forces cordoned off the village of Yaripora on Sunday which led to the encounter of four Hizbul Mujahideen militants in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Update: Three jawans lost their lives in the encounter while two more were injured. Two more militants of the Hizbul outfit have been gunned down by the army.
Jammu and Kashmir police’s Special Operation group and the Indian Army, after receiving specific intel about the presence of militants in the Yaripora village, cordoned off the area.
Militants that were hiding in the village purportedly fired shots at the security forces, following which, the army gunned down four militants of the outfit.

The militants that were gunned down have been identified as Mudasir Tantary and Mohammad Hashim. Rifles and ammunition were recovered from the duo.
Kashmir is witnessing after the encounter of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani. Strings of terror-related incidences have taken place since then.
