In the wake of the recent warning that came from Army Chief Bipin Rawat, clashes were reported from Kashmir’s Nowhatta area.

Soon after the Friday prayers, hundreds of protestors gathered at Kashmir’s Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta and started chanting pro-freedom slogans.

According to reports, protesters pelted stones at the security forces and waved Pakistan flags at them.

There were no reports of anyone getting injured during the clashes.

The Friday protests at Srinagar’s Nowhatta have become a routine over the past few months.

On February 15, General Bipin Rawat gave out a strong message to those obstructing Army operations.

“Those who obstruct our ops during encounters &are not supportive will be treated as over ground workers of terrorists,” he said.

Gen Rawat added that Army will treat locals displaying flags of ISIS and Pak as anti-nationals and take action against them.

“If locals who want to continue with terror by displaying flags of ISIS & Pak then we’ll treat them as anti nationals&will not spare them,” he said.
