A minor girl from Rajasthan’s Alwar district was rescued by local villagers after her father had sold her off for Rs 7 lakhs to Jats from Haryana.

As per sources, the 40-year-old father of the girl sold his daughter for Rs 7 lakh in Rajasthan’s Alwar district on Sunday. The victim was later rescued by the local villagers after they heard the screams of the 14-year-old while she was being forced into an SUV.

The father of the girl, Balveer Singh, had fixed the price of her daughter in a deal with two buyers, who were later identified as Ishwar Singh and Subhash Agarwal.

In her complaint, the victim alleged that her mother was also involved in selling her.

The victim’s parents are daily wage labourers. However, the father used to visit Haryana often, in search of employment. Balveer Singh met the ‘buyers’ in Haryana itself.

Further disclosing the matter, the investigating officer said, “Ishwar Singh told Balveer Singh that his daughter will be married to a 35-year old wealthy person in Haryana and she will lead a happy life there. We are probing to see if the minor was brought with an intention to push her into flesh trade.”

A case under 363 (kidnapping) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused.
